Eichelberger JC, Hildreth W, Papike JJ. 1989. Direct observation of a young igneous system : a science plan for research drilling at Katmai, Alaska. Sandia National Laboratories. Albuquerque, NM
This 1989 document is a scientific plan for research drilling in Katmai National Park that was submitted to the U.S. Dept. of Energy, National Science Foundation, U.S. Geological Survey, and U.S. National Park Service by a large group of USGS, National Laboratories, and university researchers. As part of the Continental Scientific Drilling Program, the authors proposed a program of coring and closely related research to investigate active silicic igneous processes at the site of the 1912 eruption in Katmai.
