The two non-native plants were found along the international boundary, which is the southern border of Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument. Iceplant is the common name for both, and the species found are Mesambryanthemum crystallinum and M. nodiflorum. The latter is very abundant in the area, with as many as 10,000 individuals, and grows near small pools. (In the same folder is a map of buffelgrass eradication along the border, and a memo from 12/94 about similar locations where 2 other non-native plants were growing. These are buffelgrass (Pennisetum ciliare) and Panicum antidotale.
