This study of the Jemez Mountains salamander (Plethodons neomexicanus) in the Jemez Mountains, NM determines distribution and abundance on areas slated for logging activity. Permanent transects within timber sales were installed, and surveying methods are critiqued. Snout-vent length, reproductive status, and microhabitat was recorded for each salamander. Includes maps of 1986 and 1987 timber sales and installed transects, and environmental data from each transect.
