The common myna (Acridotheres tristis) was first reported from American Samoa in 1980 and by 1985-1986 the species had spread, and is seen regularly. The jungle myna (A. fuscus) was first reported in American Samoa in 1986 and is now a well-established breeding bird on Tutuila. No attempts of eradication have been made, however an eradication program needs to be initiated.
