From introduction 'A large number of arctic-alpine and boreal plant species occur at the southern edge of their range in Glacier National Park (Lesica 1984). Seven of these species can be found in wet alpine tundra in the Logan Pass and Sperry Glacier areas. These species and the communities they inhabit should provide a sensitive bioassay of the changes in regional climate predicted to occur during the next 50 years. This report summarizes the first year's work on a study using wet alpine tundra sites to monitor global warming in Glacier National Park.' The report includes descriptions of transect locations and canopy cover/density for each of the 7 species in the transects.
