Atmospheric deposition is being analyzed in alpine and subalpine snowpack in Glacier National Park. Precipitation trends change with climate change in the timing and amount of snowpack accumulation and ablation. Snowpack changes could drive large alterations in nutrient pulses affecting natural resources. Snow chemistry research as conducted on both sides of the continental divide with the goals of establishing baseline data for atmospheric deposition at specific sites in the Park, and to determine whether varying climate conditions result in different depositional gradients.
