This thesis discusses study done in the North Fork of the Flathead River in southeastern British Columbia. The focus of this research was to develop sampling techniques to measure the biomass of selected bear food plants and to develop a sampling strategy, incorporating these techniques, to produce a quantitative measure of digestible protein and digestible energy offered by selected bear food plants within habitat units.
