In 1988 a multidisciplinary crew spent six weeks at Bering Land Bridge National Preserve performing a biological inventory. Studies were conducted 27 June-18 July at Lava Lake, 18-28 July at Kuzitrin Lake, and 29 July-2 August at Serpentine Hot Springs. Studies included collecting plants for species identification, establishing three permanent vegetation plots and collecting baseline data, small mammal and fish sampling, bird observations, examining a World War II weather station to make recommendations for removal or preservation of remnants, and documenting vegetation recovery since the 1940s at an abandoned airstrip. Results are presented for each of the three study sites. Appendices present the percent occurrence and cover of plant species, plant genus and species by location, small mammal genus and species by location, and a bird list by location.
