This preliminary report is designed to provide baseline data on bird diversity and abundance in eastside grasslands for a larger wildlife and vegetation assessment of Glacier National Park grasslands currently underway. 35 stations were established in 5 areas during June and July 2000 to conduct point counts. 1,669 individual birds and 86 species were found. Attached to the report is a count sheet for each of the areas as well as the official coding form from the landbird monitoring program put out in 1998 by the USFS.
