The purpose of the survey was to collect baseline data of species composition and density at sea bird colony sites along the coast from Cape Kubagakli to Kivkpalik Island. This entire coastline was surveyed between 9 July and 12 August 1988 by inflatable boat. All colonies observed were noted on 1:63,360 scale USGS maps. A total of 11,500 breeding sea birds, consisting of 11 species, was observed in the area. A complete list of sea bird colony sites and all bird species observed is included in an appendix.
