The natural, cultural, recreational and scenic values of Cuyahoga Valley National Recreation Area, Ohio are at risk due to gypsy moth defoliation based on egg mass surveys conducted in Fall 1999. An environmental assessment has been prepared by the National Park Service that analyzes the environmental effects of gypsy moths and the environmental consequences of several gypsy moth management options for federal land within the park.
