This U.S. Geological Survey professional paper describes fossils from southern Alaska. It describes taxa for which biological, stratigraphic, and geographic data are available and covers an area from the Wrangell Mountains on the east to Wide Bay of the Alaska Peninsula in the west, including Tuxedni and Chinitna Bays. The ammonite succession of early to middle Bajocian age is presented.
