A specific study of the Home Ranch grazing allotment on the Shivwits Plateau, which is on the north rim of the Grand Canyon. Vegetation and ground cover sampling done to determine impacts. Trend conditions as follows: If forage use is light, range conditions should improve; if forage excessive, range will deteriorate. Management conclusion was for 125 head of cattle on the allotment. Vegetation in area is two life zones intermingled: pinyon-juniper woodland and pine forest.
