The Ecological Effects of Motor Boats on Turtle Grass Beds in Everglades National Park
Zieman JC. The Ecological Effects of Motor Boats on Turtle Grass Beds in Everglades National Park
This report examines the damage to seagrass beds in Everglades National Park and Biscayne National Park caused by boat propellers. The report discusses differences between damaged and undamaged sites in relation to sediment grain size, pH, and EH of the sediment. It gives a few reasons why turtle grass (Thalassia testudinum) beds take a long time to recover from propeller damage.
