1) To continue monitoring cave water for fecal bacteria and chloride concentration at selected sites in the Mammoth Cave system, and to continue efforts to determine the 'natural' background of cave water as opposed to direct sewage pollution; 2) To continue and complete screening tests to determine tolerance of common species of aquatic troglobites to sewage; 3) To 'generalize' current investigations to include (and to relate in the context of) estimates of food energy input into the Mammoth Cave system in several localized subsystems; 4) To correlate local density and diversity of animal species at selected sites with energy input as determined in #3 above.
