Pieris floribunda (Fetter-Bush) is a high-elevation member of the heath family, an endemic to the Southern Appalachians. The study was of the factors (climate, soils, and associated vegetation) that allowed it to survive. Forty plots were established for sampling stand characteristics, species lists were made, and experiments were done with Pieris seeds. No conclusions were drawn from the study.
