Annual surveys in this series provide quantitative data on steelhead trout spawning in streams of the Redwood Creek basin. In this 11th year of surveying, snorkelers found only 15 steelhead, indicating that the run is in trouble. Water quality is poor, with temperatures considerably above that preferred by steelhead, and all the fish seen were in pools (which are usually cooler). The report notes that a proposed change in fishing regulations should benefit fish in some of the best habitat, but not migrating adults or fish holding in other areas. Tables of total steelhead numbers (1981-1991), individual descriptions of the fish seen in 1992, table of water temperatures at each reach or tributary, map locating sightings.
