Nine sites in the Jemez Mountains, NM were surveyed for the Jemez Mountains salamander (Plethodon neomexicanus) using a pitfall trap technique. Arthropod collections were also performed to determine available forage. Sites differed in logging intensity and position within a canyon (mouth versus head). Comparisons of salamander populations were made with respect to aspect, temperature, pH, logging history, and available diet.
