This paper addresses the impact of the La Mesa Fire and fire suppression activities on cultural resources at Bandelier National Monument, NM. The actions of the National Park Service to preserve archeological sites during fireline construction and rehabilitation is discussed. This report also contains information on the effects of various fire intensities upon artifacts, pollen, subsurface woody materials, and ancient structures. Includes three pages of recommendations.
