This report describes which stage embryos and tadpoles (Rana muscosa) and (Bufo canorus) are more sensitive to episodes of acidification, the extent to which embryos and tadpoles are adversely affected by pH and aluminum levels that potentially could occur in the field, and whether the sensitivity of these amphibians to low pH is affected by ionic strength of the water. Badger Pass in Yosemite was the location of one the collection areas for Rana muscosa.
