The National Park Service conducted a demonstration wetland-riparian restoration project at Sacatone Wash, Lake Mead National Recreation Area, Nevada during 1992-1994. The project involved removal of the exotic tamarisk (Tamarix ramosissima) and revegetation with native plant species.
