Observes the differential behavioural responses of the fruit bats P. tonganus and P. samoensis after cyclonic storms. Evaluates the effectiveness of recently established reserves in providing refuge. Comparisons with pre-storm data suggest that P. tonganus experienced more severe population declines than the endemic P. samoensis.
