The purpose of this report is to investigate the impact of land use on the water quality, compare water quality during base flow and storm flow conditions, and to determine the effect of season on water quality on the Bear, Calf and Tomahawk creeks which are located about mid-length of the Buffalo River. "Three tributaries (Bear, Calf and Tomahawk Creeks) located about mid-length of the Buffalo River were chosen to investigate the affect of agricultural activity on water quality because these streams provide the greatest amount of fecal bacteria, nitrate+nitrite and phosphorus to the river, despite comprising only 13% of the watershed. The specific objectives of this study were to: 1. imvestigate the impact of land use on the water quality. 2. compare water quality during base flow and storm flow conditions. 3. determine the effect of season on water quality."
