The Conservation Status of Picabo Milkvetch (Astragalus oniciformis Barneby)
Moseley RK and Popovich SJ. 1995. The Conservation Status of Picabo Milkvetch (Astragalus oniciformis Barneby). BLM Tech Bulletin No. 95-9.. Bureau of Land Management
This report presents a thorough biological and management status, including maps, of all known sites range-wide of the endemic plant Astragalus oniciformis. Several sites occur in areas administered by the BLM within CRMO. It also includes summarized results of an ambitious survey effort conducted during June 1994 by Steve Popovich to find additional sites and circumscribe the range of the plant. The survey resulted in finding significant new disjunct populations east of the Great Rift lava flows. An exhaustive associated species list for all known sites is included. Uncommon or rare pollinators, including a possible new taxon, are also noted.
