The authors present a checklist of endemic plant taxa: plants found only in Florida, south of Lake Okeechobee. Counties included in this area are Broward, Collier, Dade, Hendry, Monroe, Lee, Palm, and part of Martin. The entries are organized by family, then arranged alphabetically by scientific name. A brief description of the range and location of the species, and a literature citation, are included for each entry. Table 1 of the report lists habitat and conservation status for each species, including whether or not a substantial portion of the range occurs within a south Florida national park (such as Big Cypress National Preserve, Everglades National Park, Biscayne National Park, Dry Tortugas National Park). The list was compiled from field work, the herbarium of Fairchild Tropical Gardens, and a long list of literature cited in the report.
