This Environmental Assessment considers action proposed for years two (1988) and three (1989) of a planned 3-year program of experimental fertilization of the Overton Arm of Lake Mead. The program is designed to investigate the feasibility of using artificial fertilization to increase the forage base available to the principal game fishes of Lake Mead by adding up to 25,000 gallons of liquid ammonium polyphosphate in the years 1988 and 1989. In Lake Mead changes in shad population have closely paralleled changes in algal productivity.
