This report analyzes results of watershed rehabilitation work at three different sites along Redwood Creek, representing a variety of erosion-control methods. The Summary describes changes in methods since the work began in 1978, with recent efforts involving more heavy equipment and concentration on complete stream channel excavations and channel erosion control. Landslide control is done only in areas now known to contribute the most sediment. Transplanting of nursery-grown trees and mulching are among the most effective land stabilizing methods. Illustrations: 87 figures (black-and-white photographs, morphologic maps, and many more) and 41 tables (largely about specific treatments and their costs). Appendices list plants mentioned in text (common/scientific names), and give detailed specifications for hand methods used in erosion control.
