Most of this report is the documentation of an increase in dissolved solids in some groundwater at Stovepipe Wells (Death Valley). Two observation wells show these increases, but data are not sufficient for determining a cause. Increases are not expected to affect drinking water or plants, with the possible exception of honey mesquite. Continued monitoring and adding more observation wells would be necessary to determine a cause or the area and movement of affected water. The report also recommends determining the possible effects of sewage-pond leachate on groundwater quality.
