Total hunting use in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area during all of 1987-88 hunting seasons approached 47,400 days. Nearly 72% of the hunting was on the New Jersey side, 57% of which was for deer and 43% for small game. In Pennsylvania, 64% of the use was for deer or bear, with 36% for small game. In NJ, 7% of the hunters were non-residents, while in PA 18% were non-residents. The combination of expenditures for all hunting in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area totaled $1.4 million.
