This report is based on a biological survey of the Aleutian Islands and the Alaska Peninsula in 1936 and 1937. It concentrates on the Aleutians, where every island of any size was visited. An exhaustive reconnaissance survey was done, especially for birds. The report also covers marine and terrestrial mammals, freshwater and marine invertebrates, and fish. Annotated species lists are given for birds and mammals and include, where possible, both Aleut and Russian names.
