Gives history of pig introduction into the Hawaiian Islands, along with change in attitudes from preservation to reduction or elimination of feral pig populations. Describes adverse ecological impact of feral pig presence. Delineates management approaches undertaken, as well as control methods employed as part of these management strategies. Table gives hunt data for areas in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, 1983-1985. Discusses results of population and movement studies, as well as vegetation studies in the areas.
