A study concerning the rates of erosion after beach nourishment in front of Fort Massachusetts on West Ship Island in the Gulf Islands National Seashore, Florida and Mississippi. The physical setting of the area is described. The methods used for monitoring shoreline changes involved comparing maps and aerial photographs and recording bathymetric measurements. The history of shoreline change is discussed. Photographs and maps are used to show the change in shoreline.
