Final Report on the Shoreline Changes on Perdido Key, Florida, Gulf Islands National Seashore
Psuty N and Jagger KA. 1990. Final Report on the Shoreline Changes on Perdido Key, Florida, Gulf Islands National Seashore. Center for Coastal and Environmental Studies, Rutgers University. New Brunswick, NJ
This document is the final report that documents shoreline modification on the Gulf of Mexico side of Perdido Key. Following a 2.25 million cubic yard beach nourishment project in 1985, beach retreatment and erosion was accelerated by 3 hurricanes. Some beach accretion was evident in 1987. The report noted that the amount, distribution, and elevation of the beach-fill has a major influence on the rate of subsequent shoreline movement.
