Fire effects monitoring - Devils Postpile National Monument 1993 Preliminary Report

Keifer M. 1993. Fire effects monitoring - Devils Postpile National Monument 1993 Preliminary Report

Fire effects data was collected following the 1992 Rainbow Fire to document post-fire change in fuel load and vegetation in Devils Postpile National Monument (DEPO). The immediate post-fire data for fuel load, overstory tree density, seeding density, and understory vegetation has been summarized for burned and unburned plots." Graphs illustrate the differences between burned and unburned plots - relative amounts of fuel (woody, litter & duff), the numbers of dead versus live trees, the density of trees and the number of dead and live seedlings).
