This is a fire history of the Jemez Mountains, NM, based upon collections of fire-scarred sections of ponderosa pine from the Santa Fe National Forest and Bandelier National Monument. The fire history covers the last 400 years. There are estimates of fire intervals, synchronicity, and seasonality. The relationship between fire frequency and grazing is discussed. Includes maps of study sites, diagrams of fire scar positions within a growing season, graphical chronologies of fire events, and a summary of data on each tree.
