This report documents forest restoration of fifty acres of the Los Alamos National Laboratory, NM, following the La Mesa Fire. The area between Water Canyon and State Highway 4 was planted with 36,000 ponderosa pine seedlings during 1981. The planting activities, survival inspection procedures, and survival results are included. There are two pages of recommendations for greater success. Includes maps of the study site and causes of seedling mortality.
