This two-volume report is part of a fish and wildlife resource inventory of western arctic Alaska done in 1977 by the Alaska Dept. of Fish and Game for the Coastal Zone Management Program. Volume 1 covers wildlife in an area extending from Cape Newenham north and east some 1500 miles to the Canadian border. Information is provided for big game, furbearers, small game, waterfowl, and marine mammals. General life histories, recreational and subsistence use, and distribution and abundance as related to habitat zones are presented for each species. Volume 2 gives fisheries data for the Kuskokwim River, Yukon River, Norton Sound, Kotzebue, and northern Arctic areas. Information includes characterizations of each fishery, statistical data, historical catch, effort, economic value, and escapement.
