This habitat inventory for fish of Lost Man Creek (Redwood National Park) is the second following removal of an old concrete dam (two inventories were also done before removal). Information includes substrate sizes, and descriptions of the sizes and conditions of habitat units. Greater change was noted in the area below the dam location than above, with a decrease in pool area and corresponding increase in riffles and runs as sediment stored behind the dam moves downstream. This is expected to be temporary, but in the meantime will probably decrease winter capacity for coho salmon and possibly steelhead. Illustrations are a number of pie charts showing percentages of riffles/runs/pools, charts of characteristics (number, surface area, depth, volume, shelter) by habitat type, and the appendix contains summary pages and field data for winter 1991 habitat typing (physical summary data).
