This report is based on surveys of fishery resources and water quality and quantity conducted in Denali National Park and Preserve during summer 1981. It provides the following information for each stream surveyed: physiographic attributes, water quality and quantity, habitat features, fish use, and human use and impacts. The fishery inventory focused on establishing the presence of fish species in specific streams, primarily along the Denali Park road. Some work was also carried out in Kantishna Hills area streams. Fish sampling and turbidity measurements were done in streams with active placer mining and in streams where it had not occurred for many years. Water quality and quantity data were collected for 36 streams along the Park road once during the summer, and turbidity was measured at 6 streams in the Kantishna area. Fish were found to be present in 22 of the 26 streams examined. Grayling had the widest distribution of the five species found.
