Three units of Richmond National Battlefield Park were surveyed during the fall of 1986 and the spring and summer of 1987 in order to complete an inventory of the vascular flora for the park which was initiated in 1985. Each site was visited at three to four week intervals and species were recorded as they were encountered or collected for later study. This report includes descriptions and maps of vegetation zones of the park units studied and a checklist indicating the occurrence of each species by unit. The checklist includes 544 species and 885 individual records of species per particular park unit. Native plants make up 79 percent of the species in the checklist; the remaining 21 percent are exotics, largely adventive from Eurasia. No state or federal rare, threatened, or endangered species were located.
