Hayden WJ and Johnson MF. 1986. Flora of Richmond National Battlefield Park (Chickahominy Bluffs, Cold Harbor, Fort Darling, Fort Harrison, Garthright House, and Watt House Units). Mid-Atlantic Region (MAR) Research/Resources Management Report. MAR-16. National Park Service. Mid-Atlantic Regional Office. Philadelphia

Five units of Richmond National Battlefield Park were surveyed during 1985 growing season (late March through October) in order to produce an inventory of the vascular flora. Each site was visited at three to four week intervals and species were recorded as they were encountered or collected for later study. This report includes descriptions and maps of vegetation zones of the park units studied and a checklist indicating the occurrence of each species by unit. The checklist includes 635 species and 1586 individual records of species per particular park unit. Native plants make up 76.5 percent of the species in the checklist; the remaining 23.5 percent are exotics, largely adventive from Eurasia.
