Documents the Wood Stork annual cycle in relation to changes in water level in south Florida. The Big Cypress Swamp (about half of which is now within Big Cypress National Preserve) is one of the study areas. Information on feeding behavior and nesting indicate that 'the breeding cycle in this species is regulated by water levels and food availability, not by photoperiodism as is commonly the case in temperate zone birds' [from the Introduction]. The paper includes a brief discussion of the evolution of feeding behavior in storks. With graphs, and photographs of feeding storks, dry-season fish concentration.
