The fieldwork was done on the West Fork of the Little Pigeon and the East Prong of the Little River. Among the findings were that oxygen content of the water increases with altitude, while pH, alkali reserves, and carbon dioxide tension decrease. Heavy rains affect fish populations, all species moving lower down the streams.(see also; Water Quality).
