'In order to broaden and substantiate the fuel data collected for the Hickory Creek Savanna Unit of the Big Thicket National Preserve an additional fuel inventory was undertaken during the summer of 1978 of the Turkey Creek Unit.' Describes methods (based on recording occurences of downed wood along a tape). Discussion of fuel and flammability. Compares fuel load in different community types (e.g. baygall, pine sandhill). Appendices include a list of tree species and tables of data (fuel type, tree density, tree age, fuel weight, predicted fire density). Final page is a map of stand locations.
