Goal was to survey all mammals and 'correlate species abundance with the major plant communities present in each unit'. Sections: Squirrel Census (tables of data give population, habitat, time of year); Survey of Furbearing Mammals and Deer (counted track lines); Trapper Survey; Aquatic Mammal Survey (nutria, river otter, beaver, muskrat); Small Mammal Collecting; Feral Hog Problem? (describes evidence and sightings of hogs, also includes a bibliography listing feral hog-related publications). Species are mentioned throughout this report, but there is no single list of species found. Maps showing vegetation types are included. This copy in the Southwest Regional office has an attached sheet of labeled slides.
