Among the new western North Carolina carabid beetle species described in this paper are some from areas along the Blue Ridge Parkway. The insects described are small, wingless beetles restricted to cold, wet, high-altitude habitats. The paper contains the technical descriptions for new species (or new combinations), along with comparative anatomical drawings and a table of endemism in this genus.
