From Field and Study: Additions to the Avian check-list of Lassen Volcanic

Stebbins RC. 1943. From Field and Study: Additions to the Avian check-list of Lassen Volcanic. The Condor. 45(5):200-201

In the summer 1914-1915, the author made a list of birds that he observed which had not been included on the official park check-list. In addition to naming the species, descriptions of their behavior and often their plumage is also included. Seven species of birds previously not listed were found at Manzanita Lake: northern pintail (Anas acuta), ruddy duck (Oxyura jamaicensis), northern saw-whet owl (Aegolius acadicus), bushtit (Psaltriparus minimus), black-throated gray warbler (Dendroica nigrescens), northern shoveler (Anas clypeata), and Townsend Warbler (Dendroica townsendi).
