Additions to the Flora of Grand Canyon National Park-I

Ayers TJ, Scott RW, Stevens LE, Warren KD, Phillips AM, Yard MD. 1994. Additions to the Flora of Grand Canyon National Park-I. Journal of the Arizona-Nevada Academy of Science. 28(1/2):70-75

Additional species have recently been added to the flora of Grand Canyon. New records for 35 species represent 13 families in 31 genera. Of the 10 non-native species, one has been listed as a noxious weed in some western states, and it is expected to colonize river areas downstream from Grand Canyon. Plots set up as part of the Glen Canyon Environmental Studies have been monitored for new species, and other new listings are from collecting at various other locations along the river corridor and from curation of older collections. Most of the recent additions are riparian species, and many unknown species are certain to exist in some of the little-known areas away from the river and streams. Bibliography, appendix (species list).
