(Adapted from author's abstract.) An analysis of the geographical affinities of the dominant and characteristic taxa in the 43 plant associations dominated by vascular taxa that occur in the Arrigetch Peaks region was done. Well drained and poorly drained late lying snow beds, subnival ridges, screes, south-facing bluffs, meadows, and calcareous and non-calcareous ridges are dominated and/or characterized by Beringian or Alaska-Yukon endemic taxa. These taxa and associations occupy most of the stable sites, while circumpolar arctic-montane taxa dominate unstable slopes, cold and wet fens, marshes, and a few stable rock outcrops.
