Geologic features within the Guam Seashore Study Area

This report provides an overview of the general geologic features within the proposed Guam Seashore Study Area (GSSA), located in the western half of southern Guam. Specifically the general geologic features include the physical geography, geologic succession, structural geology, marine geology, economic geology, geologic history, soils, and a bibliography of pertinent literature. Objectives to be determined from the overview are: 1) identify and evaluate significant geologic features, 2) indicate any known problems relating to the preservation or protection of significant geologic features, and 3) identify any unique geologic features and relate their significance to known similar features elsewhere in the Pacific Basin region.
